Will changing your spark plug wires from 7.5mm to 8.5mm save fuel or just give more power?

neither... the wires are just more durable
Will changing your spark plug wires from 7.5mm to 8.5mm save fuel or just give more power?
Nope, neither.. Look alot of people make this mistake..

The MM listed is the jacket of wire, not the wire inside the jacket.

The part that carries the elec spark is the wire thats inside the casing/jacket.. Its the same on 6mm and 9mm wires

The larger mm is just a thicker rubber/silicon jacket to give wire alittle more strenght and withstand alittle higher temps.

Now some brands of plug wires are better than others.. Like take a stock 6 or 7 mm wire and say a MSD brand 7.5mm wire and yes you may gain alittle something from the MSD wire.. It has nothing to do with the MM size though.

The wire in the center of stock plug wire sets is a suspresion core wire which has a high ohm rating (1500 and up ohms per foot of wire)

Where the MSD is a sprail core wire that has 50 ohms per foot rating

you will be getting a little hotter spark so it should help both.
