on most fords you have to pull the front wheels off and then pull the mud guards off and go thru the side it is the easiest way to do it

Use a pair of pliers especially made to remove the boots from the plugs and its easier to get to them.
What year is the Taurus. You can get an extension and feel the ones in the back.The front one are right there at the top close to where the hood pops up at.I have never heard of taking off mud skirts on a front wheel drive car.On the other hand a Chevy blazer it is easier to jack the weight off of the tires and get an extension and go through the fender well.
I want to but need to know the year but please remove one at time and route them back same way they was
replace one at a time, dont pull all the old ones off at once, they are all different lengths for a reason. take one off find the new one of the right length and put it on, and keep doing them like that one by one
