WHat can cause only one spark plug to be gas fouled on 1996 Ford Taurus?

I have a 1996 Ford Taurus GL with a 3.0 V6 engine. It shakes at idle so I changed the spark plugs and noticed one on the back #5 was gas fouled. Changed wires and still shakes. Checked spark plugs and the same one is gas fouled.

You need three things to happen to get combustion in a cylinder: Fuel, compression, and a spark. You apparently have fuel. It's fouling the plug. The next thing to check would be the spark. You should be able to hold the metal part of the plug wire close to the chassis and get a spark. If not, it's the electronic ignition system or the wire itself. If you get a spark, it could be a bad or improperly gapped plug.

And, if that's not the problem, you have to check the cylinder compression. Bad compression could be caused by bad piston rings (poor seal with the cylinder wall), a broken piston rod (the piston no longer moves), a burned valve (it won't seal the cylinder during the compression stroke), bad valve guides (the seals around the valve stems), etc.

low compression, or bad injector
coil pack not firing on the #5 cylinder replace very common on fords
