I have a Troy-Bilt TB426 Push Lawn Mower and it won't start. I changed the spark plug but it still won't start

It licked some oil but it won't start, HELP.

You need to check to see if it has spark. Remove the spark plug attach the wire and ground the plug on the engine, have someone crank it. It should have spark, if not it could be the ignition coil. If it has spark, it is most likely that the carburetor needs to be cleaned. You could also put a teaspoon of gas into the sparkplug hole, replace the plug and wire and try to start it. If it tries to start but won't stay running it is a fuel problem. Either not getting fuel to the carb or the carb is dirty.
If you hit something while mowing you have bent the shear pin. Untill this is replaced...it won't start.
