having trouble doing them.

if you got coil packs then its a time consuming job on that truck, you need to give us an engine size because that really helps to know that part of it,if it does have coil packs you have to carefully remove each coil pack and the plug is located under each coil,if your having problems doing this job you need a repair manual on it to use a guide in case you run in to trouble with it,good luck with it.

Hope you have a 3.7, because here is how it is done.

Remove all the air intake system and set it out of the way. Unplug the wires from the top. There is a small tab that must be depressed to unplug it.

There is a 10mm nut on the inboard side. Once that nut is removed the coil pulls straight up and off.
one the 3.7 wasnt offered in the 2000 dakota.

I guess you mean replacing the spark plugs and removing the coils that is over the plug.

if it is then use what the first person said and you will be fine.

I take it you have the 4.7.

what dodge man said is totally false. its not a time consuming job nor do you have to be careful with the coil packs.

just take off the 10mm nut and pull off. put that boot stuff on the inside of the coil pack so its easier to pull off the next time. can of compressed air to blow out the hole so no dirt can fall in when the plug is taken out.

its an easy job to do and I have done it on my 03 dakota 4.7 lots of time.
