Changing spark plug and part of it fell into the hole, what will this do and how do i fix it?

the piece is part of the tip. the white part, its not magnetic and my vaccuum isnt getting it. started the car up after installing new plugs and it started knocking and then just sounded bad. so how do i find it or what do i do to fix it|||Don%26#039;t try to start it again. Just don%26#039;t.

If you are competent enough to remove the cylinder head, do so, find the part, and then rebuild what you took apart. If you are not competent enough to remove the cylinder head, have it towed to a mechanic.

The little piece could scar the inside of the cylinder, and mess up compression, and that%26#039;s if you are lucky. The alternatives are even worse.|||Buy a new engine, or get yourself another car.|||blow the hole out with compressed air if ya dont have a air hose get one if you run it like that a piston or valve will go|||Sounds like it%26#039;s causing the spark to die. It%26#039;s getting in the way in otherwords. If you can%26#039;t get it out yourself, better take it in and have a pro look at it. I wouldn%26#039;t try sticking anything down in there, it might cause even more probs.|||basically you are looking at yanking off some heads.. probably damaged the cylinder by starting... if you hadn%26#039;t started it digging around with something sticky might have got it after major fighting.. now head has to come off to inspect for damage

sorry|||If you already started it, there is no other way to fix it than with removing the cylinder head. Don%26#039;t start it anymore, may be the head isn%26#039;t damaged inside yet, then you will just need to remove and reinstall the head. Take it to a mechanic|||You have a very bad problem there. You may have bent a valve. Or even (God forbid) cracked a piston. If the part you dropped came out you would have heard it going down the tail pipe.

The only way I know to get it out is to pull the head.

Put your hand over the tail pipe when it is still cool. Of you feel a sucking back up the pipe you have a bad exhaust valve. Blow back from the carb. Bad intake.

Pull the cap form the oil fill. If you feel air puffing up, cracked piston.

It would be best if you didn%26#039;t start the car again.|||Hey; Before you go and pull the head off try this: Get an attachment for your shop-vac that is used for like cleaning computers. It%26#039;s a little wand that would fit into the sparkplug hole or improvise with some hose and duct tape.

But you had a knocking when you started it? That could be very bad, sorry, this should have been an easy job, huh?

Good Luck
